This volume, translated and edited by [Colton Valentine](https://socfell.fas.harvard.edu/people/colton-valentine), presents a selection of fiction, open letters, and essays by Victorian writer Vernon Lee (Violet Paget), originally published in French, Italian, and German. Exploring cosmopolitanism, multilingualism, gender, sexuality, and the *fin de siècle,* it is the first modern critical edition of these works and also includes the first comprehensive bibliography of works by Lee published in languages other than English.
