Kelvin J. Y. Wu was born and raised on the sunny island of Singapore. His research interests lie in the discovery of novel anti-infectives, broadly defined, and in addressing the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance. He is a synthetic organic chemist by training, with experience in the design and synthesis of small molecule antibiotics, their microbiological and biochemical profiling, as well as in vivo models of infection. He obtained his BA in physical natural sciences from the University of Cambridge, and completed his doctoral training with Prof. Andrew G. Myers at Harvard University.
