I am a mechanistic cell biologist investigating the diverse mechanisms by which RNA and its regulation shape cellular and organismal physiology. I completed my doctoral training in Iain Cheeseman's laboratory and collaborated with Dave Bartel's laboratory at the Whitehead Institute. I currently work in the laboratories of Shingo Kajimura, Stirling Churchman, and Feng Zhang. My research has centered on the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular complexity, with particular emphasis on a process termed alternative translation, which I will continue to build on. My current work investigates the pathways governing cold adaptation across physiology, pathology, and phylogeny.
