Emma Eigen is currently finishing her dissertation in the John U. Nef Committee on Social Thought (University of Chicago). Her research centers on the theory and practice of interpretation and hermeneutics, drawing on comparative literature, classical studies, psychoanalysis, and the history of ideas. She has published in the International Journal of Psychoanalysis and the Journal of the History of Ideas.
