Senior Fellow Greg Nagy named 'Great Immigrant, Great American' by Carnegie Foundation

For more than 20 years, the Andrew Carnegie Foundation has marked Independence Day by recognizing a group of naturalized U.S. citizens whose contributions have strengthened the nation. Active Emeritus Senior Fellow Gregory Nagy, the Francis Jones Professor of Classical Greek Literature and Professor of Comparative Literature, was included in this year's list of "Great Immigrants, Great Americans."  An immigrant from Budapest, Hungary, Nagy has become one of the country’s foremost scholars in the field of Homeric and related Greek studies, working on archaic Greek literature and oral traditions and publishing extensively on the “Iliad” and the “Odyssey.”
