Former Junior Fellow Jacob Tsimerman Awarded Fields Medal

Former Junior Fellow Jacob Tsimerman (2011 - 14), currently a professor at the University of Toronto, was one of four mathematicians awarded the Fields Medal at the International Congress of Mathematics in Philadelphia. The Fields Medal, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of mathematics, is awarded every four years to mathematicians under the age of 40, recognizing both outstanding mathematical achievement for existing work as well as the promise of future achievement. Tsimerman, 38, has until recently worked in number theory, but is now changing his focus to artificial intelligence.
